EPA throws in the towel on policing air pollution from factory farms
Published · 1 min read

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced it will end its efforts to develop methods for monitoring air pollution from factory farms, effectively abandoning its attempts to regulate these facilities under the Clean Air Act.
This decision, made just before the midterm elections, comes after a 20-year study failed to produce reliable emission estimation methodologies. Critics argue that the EPA's move will leave factory farms unregulated, despite the significant health impacts of their emissions.
