Brent Flash Crashes $6 Before Rebounding Towards $104

Published · 1 min read

Brent crude oil prices experienced a significant drop of over $6 per barrel, falling from $107.24 to $100.80, before recovering to around $104 by midmorning on Tuesday.

This fluctuation was driven by conflicting reports about U.S.-Iran peace negotiations, including claims of authorized negotiations and draft agreements, which were later disputed. The initial rebound was attributed to reports of U.S. strikes on Iran's Qeshm Island, but prices reversed as questions arose about the accuracy of the reports. By midday, prices had largely stabilized.
