Heathrow Airport's CEO, Thomas Woldbye, warns that not building a third runway would be a 'huge missed opportunity' for the UK.
The project, backed by the government, could bring around £40 billion in economic benefits. Woldbye suggests the decision will be made in the new year, while the Department for Transport is reviewing responses to a consultation. The expansion, if approved, would cost £33 billion and could lead to significant job creation and economic growth.
