ExxonMobil reported a $15.4 billion third-quarter profit, more than doubling its earnings from the previous year.
The company's Gulf Coast refineries operated at full capacity, driving record diesel production and high refining margins. Despite the upstream business experiencing a decline in earnings due to lower crude prices, Exxon increased its dividend for the 44th consecutive year and announced plans for additional share repurchases.
